What are the advantages of skid-mounted vs site-built?

Skids: pre-fabricated and tested at factory (FAT), faster commissioning, controlled quality, reduced site labor. Site-built: more flexibility but longer schedule.

For modular process plants and rapid deployment, skids are preferred. Critical for pharmaceutical fast-track projects.

What is FAT and SAT?

FAT (Factory Acceptance Test): testing at vendor facility before shipment. SAT (Site Acceptance Test): final testing at customer site after installation.

FAT typically includes mechanical, functional, and performance testing. Customer witness recommended. Document all results.

Can skids be relocated?

Yes — that's a key advantage. Skids designed for transport: lifting points, secured components, properly sized to fit transport.

Provide site dimensions: door clearances, ceiling height, floor capacity. Disconnect/reconnect minimal — utilities only.

What utilities are needed at site?

Typical: 3-phase electrical, water (clean and potable), drain, instrument air, steam (if SIP), nitrogen (if biotech).

Detailed utility list provided with design. Standard utilities; no special connections typically required.

Are skids customizable?

Yes — skids are typically engineered to customer specification. Standard equipment but custom layout, controls, instrumentation.

Provide P&ID and equipment specifications. We engineer the optimized skid layout. Iterate on 3D model before fabrication.

What documentation is provided?

Standard: P&ID, electrical drawings, equipment data sheets, control narrative, operator manual, PLC backup, FAT report.

For pharma: full validation package (IQ/OQ/PQ), software validation, calibration certificates, training documentation.

Are skids cleanable to ASME BPE?

Yes — all wetted surfaces, piping, valves, and instruments per ASME BPE for pharmaceutical applications.

Riboflavin testing for CIP coverage, draining tests, electropolished surfaces with documentation. Full BPE compliance possible.
